6th Basque Inclusion Conference

On 12th June we are holding the 6th annual conference on inclusion in the Basque Country, an event organised by the Department of Economics, Work and Employment for the purposes of networking, analysis and discussion about the challenges of inclusion.
Under the title "Policies to Construct Inclusive Territories," this year we want to focus on how public decisions —social, employment, town planning, housing, mobility, security and economic development— have a direct influence on social cohesion and on people's life chances.
This 6th Inclusion Conference is to be held in the Palacio Europa in Vitoria-Gasteiz, from 9.00am to 4.00pm. From a transversal viewpoint, we will try to identify what policies and what alliances are needed to strengthen community, reduce inequalities, ensure access to public services and plan neighbourhoods, cities and areas to allow everybody to live, participate and pursue their life plans, especially those who find themselves in the most vulnerable circumstances.
This space for networking and discussion —based on academic knowledge and criteria, the professional view and institutional experience— will enable us to go on planning people-centred policies able to impact on the social environment to generate opportunities and reduce gaps of exclusion.
The conference is aimed at inclusion professionals, public administrations, community bodies and people interested in this subject. We trust that the dialogue and exchange we propose will help to carry on constructing more comprehensive, effective responses for a more inclusive Basque Country.
We hope you find the conference interesting.
Yours faithfully,
Mikel Torres Lorenzo

Venue
The Basque government economics, work and employment department is organising the 6th Inclusion Conference, to take place on 12th June at the Palacio Europa in Vitoria-Gasteiz from 9.30am to 2.30pm.

The Palacio Europa is a major conference centre in Vitoria-Gasteiz. Located in the green corridor of the Avenida Gasteiz, one of the city's main arteries, it is a landmark of green architecture. It has Passivhaus certification for its excellent heat insulation, low energy consumption and use of solar energy. The vertical garden on the front is made up of 33,000 species of native plants.
Avenida Gasteiz, 85, 01009 Vitoria-Gasteiz, Álava.
How to get there:
We encourage you to walk to the Palacio Europa from the centre of Vitoria-Gasteiz. In just 15 minutes you can enjoy a pleasant stroll through green areas like the Parque de La Florida, in a more sustainable, environment-friendly form of mobility.
We recommend using public transport for travelling to the Palacio Europa. Vitoria-Gasteiz has an efficient, well-connected network that makes it easy to get to the site, so helping to reduce environmental impact.
The city has a bicycle rental system and a network of bike lanes that makes it easy to get around sustainably. There are pick-up stations near the palace, ideal for those who prefer to pedal.
The Vitoria-Gasteiz tram service, run by Euskotren Tranbia, is a transport system connecting different parts of the city in a fast, accessible way. The conference venue has the Europa stop just in front of the building.
The Vitoria-Gasteiz city bus service is run by the municipal company TUVISA. It has several stops nearby, especially on the Avenida Gasteiz, very close to the venue.
Vitoria-Gasteiz has several car parks in the city, including close to the Palacio Europa though, if possible, it is preferable to come by public transport or bicycle. You can find information about the Low Emission Zone (LEZ), OTA and city car parks on this Vitoria-Gasteiz city council website.
Accessibility:
The building is accessible for people with reduced mobility, with ramps, lifts and spaces adapted to allow convenient circulation.
