A psychology graduate, she has pursued a successful career in the area of guidance, training and employment, as well as doing specialist training in human resources, job placement and project management.
She joined Bilbao Ekintza in 1997 as an employment specialist, filling different roles related to guidance, training, employment mediation and support for job seekers, with special attention to groups with greater difficulties in entering the labour market.
Since 2016 she has headed the Employment and Talent Unit, leading the design, planning and implementation of public policies, strategic plans and projects oriented towards boosting people’s employability.
Her work centres on driving initiatives to promote effective social and job market inclusion, reducing inequalities and creating opportunities, particularly for vulnerable groups, as well as fostering an environment that facilitates skills development and helps attract, engage and retain talent in the city.
She also coordinates collaboration with economic and social stakeholders, businesses and organisations in the region, aligning measures with the needs of the local business community and promoting the creation of high-quality, inclusive and accessible job opportunities. All of this is part of a strategic approach aimed at strengthening social cohesion, competitiveness and sustainable economic development in Bilbao.
