Melania Moscoso Pérez
Senior scientist at the Institute of Philosophy at the Spanish Scientific Research Council.
A graduate in Social and Cultural Anthropology (1997) and Education (1999) from the University of Deusto and a doctor of Political Science and Sociology from the University of the Basque Country (thesis supervised by Patxi Lanceros). Awarded a scholarship on the Basque government Training Programme for Researchers in its predoctoral (2001-2005) and postdoctoral (2006-2008) categories, and conducted research focusing on the JAE-doc programme of the Spanish Scientific Research Council. She has been a visiting researcher at Duquesne University (Pittsburgh, USA) University of Illinois at Chicago (UIC) and postdoctoral researcher at Temple University (Piladelphia, USA). She is currently a senior scientist at the Spanish Scientific Research Council. She has written more than 40 papers for national and international academic journals, and is the author of Las aventuras de la legitimidad. Educación en valores y modernidad, published by Plaza y Valdés. She has been a non-tenured lecturer in the Department of Anthropology and Philosophy of Values at the University of the Basque Country (2014-2019), and senior scientist at the Institute of philosophy of the Spanish Scientific Research Council where, together with Txetxu Ausin, she currently heads the project Bakarzain: on Loneliness and Care.
