Elena Pérez Barredo

She has been deputy minister of work and social security in the Basque government department of economics, work and employment since 2021. Her academic background includes a master's degree in Gender and Equality Policy, degrees in Law and Economics and Business Studies and studies in Finance. In her career she has held a range of positions, including deputy minister of employment and youth, director of work and social security for the Basque government and as a civil servant in the justice department. She has also been a town councillor in Erandio and has worked for the trade union CCOO with responsibility for the justice sector.
