Alfonso Gurpegui Ruiz

He is a graduate in Education, with a postgraduate certificate in Social Education from the University of the Basque Country.

His career began in 1985, always working in areas linked to Employment and Social Services. Holding technical and management positions, some with political responsibilities.

These include:

• Deputy minister of Social Affairs and Director of Social Services (Basque government, May 2009 to August 2011).
• Director of the Social Services Area (Irun city council, April 2000 to December 2007).
• Director of the Employment and Training Department (Bidasoa Development Agency, April 1992 to March 2000).
• Director of Employment and Inclusion (Basque government Department of Work and Employment). 

He currently holds the position of deputy minister of Employment and Inclusion in the Basque government Department of Economics, Work and Employment.
