Oksana Dem’yanovych is a community agent specialising in public participation, diversity and interculturality, with over 20 years of experience in the social and community sphere in the Basque Country.

Her career began in 2005 as a volunteer and translator in Chernobil Elkartea / Chernobileko Umeak, where she took part in reception and integration programmes, providing support for minors and families and doing linguistic and intercultural mediation work.

Since 2014 she has been president of the Asociación Socio-cultural y de Cooperación al Desarrollo Ucrania-Euskadi, where she coordinated social, cultural, education and humanitarian projects, as well as initiatives to support and integrate migrants and refugees. She also coordinates volunteer work, as well as working on institutional representation and building networks between different social agents.

She is also a member of the Unión de Asociaciones Ucranianas en España (KRAI), taking part in initiatives related to integration, culture and community support.

In the course of her career she has taken part in bodies like the Bilbao local immigration council and the Basque migration and asylum forum, and has worked with social and cultural institutions, associations and bodies in the Basque Country, in areas like reception, language diversity, awareness-raising, public participation and intercultural coexistence.
