Since 2024 he has acted as an adviser in the field of self-government in the Basque government Governance, Digital Administration and Self-government Department.

Between 2020 and 2024 he was Director of Justice in the Equality, Justice and Social Policy Department. Previously, between 2013 and 2020, he held the position of Director of Legal System, Services and Electoral Processes in the Security Department.

He was also head of legal advice in the Interior Department and practised as a lawyer for the Basque Government Central Legal Services and for the Interior Department.

He has a degree in Law and a postgraduate qualification in Human Resources, an advanced studies diploma in Public Law and training on the doctoral programme, as well as an advanced course in the European Constitution, among other specialist studies.
