Alfred Woeger

Senior Project Manager, Member States Programme, Migration Policy Unit, International Centre for Migration Policy Development (ICMPD)

Alfred Woeger is Senior Project Manager on the Member States Programme at the International Centre for Migration Policy Development (ICMPD), where he coordinates the operational and knowledge management components of the programme.

He has more than twenty years' experience in migration governance. His work combines direct support for member states with designing spaces in which this knowledge can circulate, including peer-to-peer learning, communities of practice and training. In recent years he has helped several member states to prepare and implement the Pact on Migration and Asylum.

He previously headed the MIgration EU eXpertise (MIEUX) Initiative, a global cooperation mechanism between peers that helped public administrations to manage migration and mobility more efficiently through rapid technical support tailored to their needs. He also coordinated MIEUX activities in Latin America and the Caribbean.

Alfred has a master's degree in International Development from the University of Vienna and is currently studying E-Learning and Knowledge Management at the University of Applied Sciences in Burgenland, Austria.
