Group Ib - Bird

Bird

17 cm long bird whose back, head and neck are formed by a natural edge of the rock. The shape of this rock edge must have reminded the Palaeolithic artist of the image of a bird. He completed the figure by carving the eye, chest and abdomen, the hind part of the back and the tail. The tail has various parallel incisions representing the feathers.
