Initially, this drop was thought to mark the end of prehistoric man's expeditions into this area of the cave.
Although the speleologists of the Aranzadi Science Society had discovered a long gallery that started at the end of the drop, they did not find any evidence of human presence. In 1982 two figures were discovered at the base of this drop. This sparked hopes that further artwork might be discovered in the magnificent lower galleries. This hope was no fulfilled, however, and these two figures arte he only ones in these galleries.
The plane on which these figures are found falls almost vertically, slightly overhanging, to the bottom of the drop, 10 metres deep. The two figures are found two metres above the floor. Unfortunately the painting that shows them is almost lost.
