Nerea Melgosa

She holds a degree in Sociology and Political Science from the University of Deusto and a master’s in Human Resources from the EADA Business School in Barcelona. She has completed specialist courses in Cooperatives (U. Deusto), Market Research (UNED) and Democratic Local Governance towards Gender Equality.

She has served as Minister for Equality, Justice and Social Policy of the Basque Government since 2023. From 2019 to 2020 she was Director of Equality and Human Rights at the Provincial Council of Álava.

Her municipal experience includes leading the areas of Employment, Sustainable Economic Development, Coexistence, Diversity and Social Policy at Vitoria-Gasteiz City Council. She currently serves as Minister for Welfare, Youth and Demographic Challenge of the Basque Government.
