Claudia Hupkau

Claudia Hupkau is an Associate Professor in the Department of Economics at CUNEF Universidad, holding a Ramón y Cajal research contract (2023–2028). She holds a PhD in Economics from the Université Catholique de Louvain, Belgium.

Before joining CUNEF, she was a Research Economist at the Centre for Economic Performance (CEP) and Research Coordinator at the Centre for Vocational Education Research (CVER) at the London School of Economics (LSE).

Her research interests include the economics of education, labour economics, gender inequality and the economics of identity. Her articles have been published in the Journal of Public Economics, Journal of Human Resources, Economic Policy and Labour Economics.

During her doctoral studies she worked at the Social Market Foundation think tank in London, where she conducted research on education, poverty and inequality.
