José Luis Gil y Gil

Professor of Labour Law at the University of Alcalá, Mr Gil y Gil has carried out extended research stays at universities in Germany, Belgium, the United States, France and Italy, and has been visiting professor at the Universities of Bordeaux, Nantes, Panthéon-Assas Paris II and Bergamo. He has been granted five six-year research fellowships, and leads the research group Labour Standards and Global Trade. His research activity has focused on the dogmatics of employment contracts, as well as on international and European labour law. He has published more than a hundred articles on these and other subjects in national and foreign legal journals, and monographs such as La prescripción de las faltas laborales (1993), Autotutela privada y poder disciplinario en la empresa (1994) and Principio de la buena fe y poderes del empresario (2003).
