Education Inspectorate External Action
The Education Inspectorate of the Basque Government's Department of Education presents, through this webite, the objetives and activities of the EXTERNAL ACTION team's program.

1.- Participate as active members of the SICI association (Standing International Conference of National and Regional Inspectorates of Education) in the events, seminars, conferences, and working groups organized by SICI, and spread its results and conclusions in the field of education inspection.

- Report on and spread the various activities and their content carried out by the inspectorates of partner countries through newsletters and the website.
- Participate in the various events organized by different countries (General Assemblies, workshops, European projects, etc.).

2.- Disseminate European best practices on topics of interest with the Basque inspectorate. Reflect on these practices and their possible adaptation to our context, and contribute to their impact on inspection practices. Share materials and documents used in other European contexts on the topic.
- Activities:
- Organization of training activities for the entire inspection team in the Basque Country, with the participation of experts from other autonomous communities, European authorities, or international organizations, on topics of interest to our inspection team.
- Spread the content of the materials generated during these training sessions or at other events we attend.
- Serve as a host organization for international events.

3.- To raise awareness at the European level of the various actions we are underway that are of international interest.

- Participate in international events (conferences, congresses, workshops, etc.), both as speakers and as listeners.
- Respond to requests received from other countries regarding our education system or related to inspection issues.

4.- Experience the realities of different European inspections firsthand and share them with fellow inspectors.

- Participate in direct observation activities ("job shadowing"), visiting other inspections to learn about their activities related to school supervision or any other topic of interest.

02.2 NATIONAL
The Education Inspection of the Basque Country participates and organizes training sessions, both at the level of the autonomous community and at the state level.
We highlight the following events:
03.3.1 INTRODUCTION AND OBJETIVES
- SICI (Standing International Conference of Inspectorates) is an association of national and regional education inspectorates in Europe. It was founded in 1995 and currently it has 45 member inspectorates. SICI's main purpose is to contribute to the improvement of member countries' education systems by improving the processes carried out by education inspectorates. Its vision has been formulated through the following theme: "Better Inspection, Better Learning".
- It has set three objectives to make this vision a reality:

- Help improve inspections and the professional competencies of its members.
- Promote and support collaboration and cooperation between inspectorates.
- Actively participate in international debates on the assessment and improvement of quality in education.

- The Basque Country Education Inspectorate has been a member of SICI since March 2018 and has participated in various meetings and workshops, the contents of which are detailed on its website (https://www.sici-inspectorates.eu/) and in the corresponding bulletins published by the External Action team.
03.3.2 ACTIVITIES
SICI organizes three workshops annually (usually in September, April, and June) and a General Assembly in November. These workshops revolve around a topic chosen by all member partners, and the conclusions of these workshops are gathered at the General Assembly.
