The aim of these two-yearly statistics - based on DECREE 86/1997 of 15 April regulating the process for standardisation of the use of Basque in public administrations in the Autonomous Region of the Basque Country - is to study the evolution of Basque language learning on the part of civil servants in public administrations in the Basque Country.
