The most beautiful towns in the Basque Country according to National Geographic

National Geographic has once again published its list of the 100 most beautiful towns in Spain and it is very useful for those who are still looking for a place to travel this summer. This list includes four towns in the Basque Country that stand out for their great beauty. 

The highest rated Basque town was Laguardia, a medieval village in Álava. National Geographic's travel experts have highlighted its medieval essence, which can be appreciated from the moment you enter from its fortified porticoes. In addition, the wine culture, its modern and traditional wineries and historic buildings make it well worth a visit.

Three other towns on the Basque coast have made the list: Getaria, Hondarribia and Mundaka. The natural beauty that surrounds them and the characteristic charm of their fishing ports stand out. 

National Geographic has included a total of four towns in the Basque Country on its list, but there are many more to discover.
