The success of the San Sebastian Gastronomika event confirms Donostia as ‘the cooking city par excellence’.
The organisers of Gastronomika have closed its 26th edition, naming it as the most open and participative edition in its entire history. The numbers registered were record-breaking; 14,780 accredited participants of 48 different nationalities and more than 10,000 tastings served.
Among the different activities that have been held (congresses, talks, etc.), the National Grill Competition, a classic among meat lovers, stands out. In this edition the winner was Vanesa Martín, a cook who participated in collaboration with the Guikar meat company, named as the best meat this 2024.
1st Taverns and Tavernkeepers Forum
In this edition, Gastronomika has held the first forum that highlights the relevance of the most humble taverns on the gastronomic scene. In this forum, the professionals of these establishments vindicated their role and their work in the discovery of new techniques and new talents.
After the success of this edition, culinary professionals in Donostia/San Sebastián and many others around the world are looking forward to another edition to celebrate gastronomy in an event like no other.
