ABRA wineries scoop 14 medals at the Concours Mondial de Bruxelles
The Concours Mondial de Bruxelles began in 1994 and since then has become one of the leading competitions in the world. The judging panel is made up of recognised experts in the wine-making sector, from approximately 40 countries. In the latest edition of the competition, the Rioja Alavesa's wineries have won 14 medals: seven gold and seven silver. The gold-medal-winning wineries were Pago de Larrea (Caecus Reserva 2007), Señorío de las Viñas (Colono Expresión 2011), Pagos de Leza (Editor Crianza 2010), Fos (Fos Reserva 2007), Eguren Ugarte (Heredad Ugarte Crianza 2009), Loli Casado (Polus Tempranillo 2011) and Familia Monje Amestoy (Seis de Luberri 2010). The silver medals, meanwhile, went to the following wineries: Hermanos Frias del Val (Hnos. Frias del Val Crianza 2008), Larchago (Larchago Crianza and Pagos de Tahola Reserva 2006), Loli Casado (Jaun de Alzate Crianza 2009), San Prudencio (Depadre 2009), Dominio de Berzal (Dominio de Berzal Crianza 2010) and Viñaspral (Crianza 2009 Maisulan).
