Donostia-San Sebastián racecourse
It was inaugurated in 1916. It is situated in the Zubieta district of Donostia-San Sebastián, next to Lasarte, the reason wherefore it is known as the Lasarte Hippodrome.
During the first half of the 20th century it was the town's social meeting point. Nowadays races take place in spring and in summer.
Different competitions take place in March, amongst them five meetings with 26 races, in which riders from the whole country participate. On August 15th finishes another championship that starts at the beginning of the month. Every year, the Real Sociedad Hípica de Loyola brings together the best jumpers to take part in Spain's Jumping Championship. The Hippodrome receives also, since more than five decades, the International Cross of San Sebastian.
The first establishment for external bets ("Hipodromoa Turf") located within the racecourse. Thanks to this, horse races fans can bet on international horse races. Several points of sales in Euskadi.
