Plans to know the Basque Country

Museum of Sobron

On its way to the Mediterranean Sea, the Ebro River shapes valleys, dodges mountains, and increases its course in several dams. One of them is the Sobron Dam, a spike-shaped gigantic tear of water that establishes the border between Castile-Leon and the Basque Country. There -next to the banks of the dam- is where the Water Museum of Sobron arises, a revealing and deep tribute to the liquid element. The facilities are aimed at training, informing, entertaining, and, above all, raising everybodys awareness of the importance of H2O in our existence.

The centre is equipped with the most innovative and modern technology for museums in order to get to know all the secrets of water, from its most intimate aspects its origin and composition to its curative properties. Sobron was an important health resort at the end of the 19th century, as well as the myths and legends related to the liquid or the aspects connected with ecology and responsible consumption. After the visit, it will be very difficult to watch a glass of water with the same eyes.
