Bilbao Exhibition Centre (BEC)

Bilbao's new trade fair facilities opened their doors in April 2004. The Bilbao Exhibition Centre, commonly known as BEC, is the most innovative centre of this kind in Europe. With the main aim of providing services to the entire Atlantic Arc, the easily accessible premises were designed and built in accordance with the latest tendencies in the sector: modern constructive projects using state-of-the-art technology that are adapted to the needs of exhibitors and visitors.

Located in Ansio, Barakaldo, the BEC is divided into six pavilions, four of which cover an area of 15,000 square metres and the other two of 21,000 square metres each. The latter of the exhibition halls, the Bizkaia Arena, has been specially fitted out so that it can be devoted to several purposes such as performances and concerts. The total exhibition area amounts to 150,000 square metres.

The versatile convention centre is also equipped with varied offices, VIP suites, meeting rooms and lecture halls all along the atrium that connects the pavilions; as well as with a press room; restaurants and all those advanced services needed when carrying out a range of meetings and activities.
