Luzea Tower

Art & Culture

Cultural Heritage

Torre Luzea is a magnificent 15th-century building very well preserved. In the past it worked as watchtower fortress. It is one of the best examples of civil Gothic civil buildings in Gipuzkoa.

Built in masonry stone, the main facade is the most interesting, proportioned and singular one of the building. The tower features three floors and a ground floorm where several Gothic large windows stand out as well as the coat of arms belonging to the Zarauz Family. Inside hang beautiful paintings dating back to the 16th century.

The tower is located in a little park ideal for a relaxing walk while we enjoy some sculptures consecrated to poet Xabier Lizardi and bertsolari (spontaneous oral trouvère) Basarri.
