Cultural Heritage
The palace-tower was the residence of the Ayala Family, lineage that names the whole valley. It was built in the 14th century, at the peak of Gothic style. It has square plan, with towers on the corners and a big central courtyard. Only one of the original towers remains, the one facing northeast. The tower's main facade, facing east, has a pointed-arch door without decoration. After being restored, it now houses the Sacred Art Museum of Quejana, which contains endless elements that help explain the history of the Ayala Family. Ayala Tower is located in the Historic complex of Quejana, formed by the chapel-tower of la Virgen de Cabello and the church and convent of San Juan Bautista.
